Israeli commandos already fighting behind Gaza lines
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
December 28, 2008, 11:49 PM (GMT+02:00)
US-made CBU-24 bunker buster bomb
Amid continuing massive air strikes and wide speculation about whether or not Israeli ground forces will cross into the Gaza Strip, DEBKAfile's military sources report small groups of Israeli special forces were already carrying out swift hit-and-run raids Sunday, Dec. 28, on Day 2 of the Israeli Gaza operation.
As Israeli bombers, gunships and drones hovered overhead, picking up every move made by Hamas fighters and their missiles, Israeli stealth squads popped up at command posts, transport routes and missile squads, hit some and then faded away behind sand dunes. This tactic sowed confusion in Hamas ranks and gave them no chance to regroup and recover from the crushing air assault to their military infrastructure. The latest Palestinian death toll is estimated at 296.
This ground operation, which is likely to intensify Sunday overnight, has two objectives:
1. To mark key targets for air bombardment;
2. To blaze the way for a large-scale armored incursion still to come.
The most important mission carried out by the Israeli Air Force Sunday was the destruction of 40 smuggling tunnels, severing Hamas' arms, fuel, ammunition and reinforcements lifeline from Iran and Syria via Egyptian Sinai. It raised the question of why this feat was not carried out during the three years since the tunnels began functioning.
Whereas Saturday, the Israeli bombers struck with missiles, Sunday, dropped CBU-24 bunker busters which detonate 30 minutes after penetration on the Philadelphi tunnels. By the time the plumes of black smoke rose over the targeted area, the Israeli planes were gone.

Lebanon reports intense Israeli air activity
December 28, 2008, 3:02 PM (GMT+02:00)
Israeli Air Force F-16 fighter
A Lebanese security official reported that five Israeli aircraft overflew Bin Jbeil in South Lebanon and then headed for the Mediterranean port town of Tyre further north. He also reported a reconnaissance aircraft cruised over the South all night. Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah is due to speak later Sunday, Dec. 28, about the air operation Israel launched Saturday against Hamas military and missile sites and resources.
On the night of Dec. 25, Lebanese sappers defused 13 rockets shortly before their timing devices would have sent them hurtling towards the northern Israeli cities of Nahariya and Maalot. They were loaded on eight new Iranian-made rocket launchers located in a wadi 5 km from the Israeli border, the site used by the Hizballah to pummel northern Israel in the 2006 Lebanon War. Three were primed to fire 107mm RAAD rockets and five loaded with 122mm Grad Katyushas.
DEBKAfile's military sources were certain that Hizballah handed the rockets to Hamas terrorists at the Ain Hilwa camp in south Lebanon and guided them to the exact launching site for hitting the two Israeli towns. Their point was to demonstrate that Hamas could hit Israel with rockets not just from Gaza but also from a second front in Lebanon in the event of an Israeli military operation against Hamas.

Gaza Operation Day 2: Israel calls up 6,500 reservists, Hamas steps up long-range rocket attacks
DEBKAfile Special Report
December 28, 2008, 3:07 PM (GMT+02:00)
Israeli tanks just outside Gaza
The Israeli cabinet Sunday, Dec. 28, approved call-up orders for 6,500 reservists the day after Israel's devastating assault on hundreds of Hamas military sites in Gaza, in which 282 Palestinians, 90 percent in uniform, were killed. Two thousand were recruited Saturday. Hamas activated its Iran-made improved Grad Katyusha unit, sending rockets winging as far as Moshav Bnei Ayish near Yavne to the northeast and the big port city of Ashdod to the north, both nearly 40 km from the Gaza Strip. One fell in the yard of an Ashdod home. Four landed in Ashkelon, injuring three people.
The call-up orders went to command personnel, technical teams and homeland front units. Several Israeli tanks have moved forward to the Gaza border fence and opened fire. The Israeli assault on Hamas continues to focus on aerial action.
In Gaza City, Israeli bombers struck the government center, headquarters of the Hamas security services and two police compounds, the Rafah governate and Beit Hanoun municipality - going after the symbols of Hamas rule as well as missile-launchers Saturday. The unofficial Palestinian death toll has risen to 282 as Israeli air strikes continued during the night.
The targeted Israeli population has expanded to almost three quarters of a million.
Residents of the towns of Yavne and Beersheba, capital of the Negev, were told to standby for missile alerts in addition to all locations closer to Gaza. Tuesday after the Hanukkah holiday, schools will not reopen up to 20 km from the Gaza border. Shear Hanegev farmers inside that strip were told to stay indoors.
DEBKAfile's military sources report that the dozens of brand-new Grad rockets reached Hamas' arsenal in recent months through the Suez Canal and Sinai. The Egyptians turned a blind eye.
Hamas and its fellow Palestinian terror groups have divided up their missions: Hamas controls the long-range rockets able to reach targets 42 km from Gaza – Ashdod, Ashkelon, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, Netivot, Ofakim and the outskirts of Beersheba; its allies wield the home-made Qassam missiles to pound nearby Israeli locations like Sderot.
Overnight and Sunday, the Israeli air force sought out Palestinian crews. Leaflets were scattered warning Palestinian civilians to stay clear of coming attack. Those crews managed to fire off 13 missiles and rockets by Sunday afternoon. Defense minister Ehud Barak said Israeli ground forces would go into the enclave if that is what it takes to stop the fire
Israel launched its massive air attack Saturday eight days after Hamas terminated the agreed six-month Gaza ceasefire by showering missiles and mortar rounds on 250,000 Israeli civilians day after day. They kept on falling even as Israel opened the crossings to allow 90 trucks of food and medicines to cross into the Gaza Strip. A further 30 trucks of assistance required by international aid agencies went through from Israel Sunday.
Since Israel evacuated the enclave in 2005, Palestinian factions have fired 6,000 missiles.

Israeli air force hits back at Hamas in Gaza
Israeli bombers hit Hamas' film center in southern Gaza Saturday night, Dec. 27, after massive air raids destroyed Hamas compounds across the enclave leaving 205 killed, 330 injured and thousands of shock victims. The operation followed a week in which Hamas fired 200 missiles at Israeli civilian targets.
The Israeli Air Force planes struck Hamas security headquarters in Gaza City and compounds, police stations and ports. Several Hamas commanders were killed in the bombardment of a Hamas military passing-out ceremony. Among them was Hamas police chief Tawfiq Jabber.
The Israeli military spokesman said the Gaza operation is "just beginning" and would be expanded and intensified as necessary.
Hamas and other Palestinian factions ordered its "fighters to avenge Israeli attacks." A Israeli was killed in Netivot in its first reprisal.
Egypt has condemned Israel for its military attack, but held Hamas responsible for refusing to heed warnings and failing to protect the Palestinian people. It has mobilized its rescue and medical services in Sinai, including hospitals for aid to casualties for the Israeli air bombardment of Gaza. Egyptian ambulances stood by at the Rafah crossing to transport wounded Hamas operatives.
The Israeli air attack launching some 40 missiles began 11.30 a.m. local time Saturday, eight days after Hamas terminated the informal Gaza ceasefire by showering missiles and mortar rounds on 250,000 Israeli civilians day after day.
Last week, the Israeli cabinet gave the Israeli military the green light for reprisals as Palestinian missile attacks escalated, 13 mortar rounds fired Friday, when Israel allowed 90 trucks of food and medicines to cross into the Gaza Strip.
Since Israel evacuated the Gaza Strip in 2005, the Palestinians have fired 5,000 missiles.

A second conference has been posted on the docket for the U.S. Supreme Court over the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility to occupy the White House, this one scheduled a week after Congress is to review the Electoral College vote tabulation.
The latest issue posted is a request for an injunction on the election results pending the resolution of a petition for a writ of certiorari filed by attorney Philip J. Berg, a case that is docketed for a similar conference among the justices on Jan. 9.
Berg's original case raises questions about Obama's eligibility and his injunction request first was filed early in December. It was submitted to and rejected by two different justices before it came before Justice Antonin Scalia on Dec. 18. Then just before Christmas the docket was updated to reflect that the motion had been "distributed for conference of January 16, 2009."

Israeli air force hits back at Hamas in Gaza
Israeli sources report 154 killed, 270 injured and thousands of shock victims following the waves of Israel Israeli Air Force planes which destroyed Hamas security headquarters in Gaza City, and compounds, police stations and ports across the Gaza Strip. Several Hamas commanders were killed in the bombardment of a Hamas military passing-out ceremony. Among them was a police chief Tawfiq Jabber.
Hamas and other Palestinian factions have ordered its "fighters to avenge Israeli attacks."
The Israeli military spokesman said the Gaza operation is "just beginning." An Israeli official said all Air Force planes had returned safely to base but the operation carried out in response to Palestinian terrorist attacks would be expanded and intensified if needed. They went into action a second time Saturday against missile teams which hit killed a woman in Netivot and bombarded Ashkelon from northern Gaza.
Egypt has condemned Israel for its military attack and mobilized its rescue and medical services in Sinai, including hospitals for aid to casualties for the Israeli air bombardment of Gaza. Egyptian ambulances are standing by at the Rafah crossing to transport wounded Hamas operatives.
Defense minister Ehud Barak has placed Sderot and locations surrounding the Gaza Strip on an emergency footing.

THERE IS SOME BS CONFUSION THAT HAS GOTTEN BACK TO ME THAT I MUST CLARIFY HERE AND NOW. THE ONLY LUBRICANT THAT I USE AS A GENERAL RULE AND THAT I HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN IS "MILITEC" METAL TREATMENT IN ALL MY INTERNAL ACTION WORK. THE PERSON THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE SAYING OTHERWISE IS FULL OF SH-T AND MUST BE SMOKING HORSE SH-T. I OFTEN USE THE MILITEC BASED LITHIUM GREASE ON THE RAILS AND ON THE LOCKING LUGS.
NO LUBRICANT CAN PREVENT A JAM IN A SEMI AUTO FIREARM IF THE INTERNALS ARE NOT PROPERLY TUNED. MILITEC IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS IN OUR WORLD.
I HAVE FOR YEARS MADE A SEMI FLUID FOR VERY DIFFICULT TRIGGER PULLS THAT IS A MIXTURE OF THREE INGREDIENTS BUT IT IS PURE "WHITE" BUT I VERY SELDOM EVER USE IT. IT MUST BE SHAKEN TO GET ALL THE INGREDIENTS IN SUSPENSION AND I NEVER LIKED THAT ASPECT OF IT. I DO NOT STOCK IT AND I DO NOT BUY IT AND ONLY MIX IT WHEN I ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY SOMETHING TO HELP A VERY HARD TRIGGER PULL.
SO YOU CAN ALL BE SURE THAT IF YOU EVER HEAR A RUMOR THAT I USE OTHER LUBRICANTS OTHER THAN "MILITEC" FOR MY INTERNAL ACTION WORK IT IS NOT ONLY BS BUT FABRICATED BUY A "NUT" WHO BELIEVES HIS OWN BS...

War tensions rise as Pakistan moves troops to Indian border, cancels army leaves
DEBKAfile Special Report
December 26, 2008, 8:39 PM (GMT+02:00)
Indian Air force marks 5,000 terror targets
DEBKAfile's military sources report some 20,000 troops of Pakistan's 14th Division are said to have been diverted from the Waziristan border region with Afghanistan to the Line of Control in Kashmir and the international border with India. This is a loss of one-fifth of the total Pakistani force fighting the Taliban and al Qaeda.
Border tensions shot up Friday, Dec. 26, exactly one month after Islamist Lashkar e-Taibe terrorists struck the Indian town of Mumbai, killing 161 people, mostly Indians and including six Israelis. Leaves were cancelled in the Pakistani armed forces and its air force put on high security alert. New Delhi advised Indian citizens to avoid Pakistan and prime minister Manmohan Singh conferred with India's army, navy, air force chiefs. Wednesday, Marshal P.K. Barbora, air officer commander-in-chief of the Western Air Command, commented that India's air force had marked 5,000 Islamic terrorist targets in Pakistan.
Islamabad is bracing for surgical Indian air and commando strikes against radical Islamist targets deep inside Pakistan.
On the Indian side of the border, armored and commando forces are reported massing and the inhabitants of border villages put on standby for evacuation should hostilities erupt between the two nuclear-armed nations.
Washington Friday appealed to Pakistan and India to avoid a war escalation. The relocation of substantial Pakistani strength from the border with Afghanistan to the Indian front is a major setback for the NATO war on terror, easing the path of Taliban and al Qaeda for attacks on coalition forces in southern Afghanistan. They have already wrought havoc with NATO supply routes from Pakistan. A Pakistan-Indian flare-up would allow them to sever the routes almost unopposed.

SEAL YOUR PRIMERS and more
I live in a world of reality. I think beyond normal events as its better to prepare now in order to care for the handgun that you will rely on for the protection of life and property.
The following are a list of my priorities I feel have become a necessity. NO ONE should ever carry ammunition unless you seal your primers. I like to use bright red nail polish.
Take a box of ammo and paint the entire primer and the lettering on the rear of the case, let it dry completely, when it is absolutely dry take a paper towel and wrap it around your index finger, put nail polish remover on the paper towel and wipe off the back of the case, removing all the red nail polish except what remains in and around the primer and in the lettering, so its easy to see. Put a printed label on the box of ammo or a permanent colored round dot so you can easily identify which box has sealed primers. Your ammunition is now protected from penetrating oil of any kind, from the primer area.
I always went a step further and cleaned each carry bullet with Flitz or Simichrome polish, and then I applied Flitz pure carnuba wax to each bullet that I would constantly carry. It will prevent corrosion and it will feed better. I have been doing this for many years.
People have died because when they needed their handgun, they had a dead primer because of oil penetrating their primer. A product like WD 40 will destroy your primer.
When you select your main semi auto carry handgun you will need to stock extra magazines, recoil, firing pin springs, etc, etc. It never hurts to have a second identical handgun so you could cannibalize it for parts in an emergency. I have started using Silicone wire recoil springs that are excellent. If you have selected a Government 1911 pistol stay with the factory standard 16 lb. recoil spring. I only recommend conventional recoil springs. I do not like variable recoil springs.
You must keep your carry gun clean and lightly lubricated, I use Militec (www.militec-1.com)

India, Pakistan close to War? Air Force and Army on High Alert
Air vigilance has been stepped up in both countries, especially in Pakistan after Pranab warned Pakistan that India keeps all option open if Pakistan fails to deliver on its promises to crack down on terrorists. Pakistan scrambled its fighter jets over all major cities including Islamabad on Monday, sending a panic wave among its people. The fighter jets could be seen flying over Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore.
Once the news reached Delhi, India immediately swung into action by by deploying quick reaction air force and army teams on the Western border. The BSF is on high alert on Punjab border. Special Air Force units have been deployed at Jaisalmer, Barmer and Bhuj. Chandigarh-based 12 Wing of the Air Force Station has witnessed hectic activity on Monday.
As Pakistan continued to deny the involvement of its citizens in the Mumbai terror attacks despite the proofs given by India and other global community, India may lost patience sooner or later and forced to take a tough stance on Pakistan. Launching attack on the terror camps in PoK may be the first option for India.
Gaza bracing for Israeli military strike
JERUSALEM (AFP) — The spectre of a military invasion is hanging over the Gaza Strip as militants fired another volley of rockets despite Israeli warnings that failure to stop the attacks would lead to bloodshed.
The latest violence came amid widespread speculation Israeli forces were gearing up for military action in Gaza, which some media said was likely to be a limited operation rather than a full-scale invasion.
"Army preparing for combined ground, air operation in Gaza," declared the front-page headline in the Haaretz newspaper.

The controversy began when a website called News and Commentary for Thinking People published a 48-page document that lists Miceli as the owner of the Obama home at 5046 S. Greenwood.
Miner, Barnhill & Galland was Obama's employer when he did extensive legal work for Rezko, who awaits sentencing after he was convicted in June of fraud, money laundering and bribery-related counts.
Miceli, as a senior attorney at the firm, supervised Obama when the future president wrote letters on behalf of Rezko urging public authorities to award him new public properties to rehabilitate, notes the "Barack Book" website maintained by GOP.com.
WND asked for comment from Obama's transition team and the Democratic National Committee but did not receive a response.

Bush Fails To Pardon Border Agents
A rapper serving a lengthy prison sentence for smuggling cocaine, an embezzler and a tax evader are among those thankful for presidential pardons and commutations this week while a pair of U.S. Border Patrol agents spend another Thanksgiving in prison for intercepting an illegal immigrant drug smuggler.
Once again President George W. Bush has pardoned or reduced the sentences of serious criminals while the veteran federal agents— Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean—rot in jail for doing their job. The men intercepted a van loaded with drugs while guarding the Mexican border near El Paso in 2005. The admitted drug smuggler, an illegal alien named Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, tried to flee and one of the agents shot him in the buttocks though he still got away.
Ramos and Compean were subsequently convicted on charges of causing serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm and violating the drug smuggler's civil rights. The agents were sentenced to 11 and 12-year prison terms, outraging dozens of lawmakers from both parties who have pushed for pardons.
This week marks the second time that Bush announces a list of pardons and commutations that, incredibly enough, excludes the agents. Last year the list featured 14 serious criminals, among them several drug dealers and a man convicted for bombing a coal mine.
An additional 14 convicts received the coveted presidential pardons and commutations this week, just in time to spend Thanksgiving at home with family. Among them is a rap artist serving a 14-year prison sentence after getting busted at Newark International Airport with a briefcase containing $1.4 million worth of cocaine.
Also off the hook is an income tax evader, a bank embezzler, a couple of unrelated men convicted for distribution of marijuana and cocaine and a woman who aided and abetted theft of government property. The entire list is available from the Justice Department.

The research arm of the US Department of Justice is working on two portable non-lethal weapons that inflict pain from a distance using beams of laser light or microwaves, with the intention of putting them into the hands of police to subdue suspects.
The two devices under development by the civilian National Institute of Justice both build on knowledge gained from the Pentagon's controversial Active Denial System (ADS) - first demonstrated in public last year, which uses a 2-metre beam of short microwaves to heat up the outer layer of a person's skin and cause pain.

He writes: “To the extent events like this involve organized violence against local, state, and national authorities and exceed the capacity of the former two to restore public order and protect vulnerable populations, DoD [Department of Defense] would be required to fill the gap.”
Freier continues: “Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order … An American government and defense establishment lulled into complacency by a long-secure domestic order would be forced to rapidly divest some or most external security commitments in order to address rapidly expanding human insecurity at home….

India Nuke Command
In Secret Meeting
12-25-8- NEW DELHI -- Pakistan media has derided their government for ineffective diplomatic initiatives. In contrast, India's diplomatic 'offensive' is seen as a move to muster world support and to manage the impact in the event of an India-Pakistan war.
- ''For every Mukherjee scud, there are a dozen Pakistani duds," writes political economist Mosharraf Zaidi in 'The News' on Wednesday, referring to Pranab Mukherjee's meeting over 100 Indian ambassadors summoned from around the world to brief them on the subcontinent situation. Its editorial, too, sees the meet as an important strategic tool. "The pressure on Pakistan continues to mount," it says.
- "India will soon launch a massive diplomatic offensive against Pakistan. All its ambassadors and high commissioners have been called to NewDelhi to prepare a strategy to malign Pakistan. The main target of this offensive will be Pakistan's nuclear assets, because it wants to deprive this country of its nuclear capability," adds analyst Mir Jamilur Rahman who also wants India to learn to say "please" and stop "ordering" Pakistan around.
- Defence analyst Shireen Mazari says, "The unscheduled envoys conference can only have been called to contain the diplomatic fallout of such strikes." Interestingly, Mazari finds US military chief, Admiral Mike Mullen's second visit to Islamabad this month a move to persuade Pakistan to allow India to attack certain targets within the country. In the meantime, India's targeted strike capabilities have been pooh-poohed. "Let us examine whether India can actually carry out these threats," writes S M Hali in a detailed analysis in The Nation and finds Pakistan far better equipped.

Indian troops reportedly have deployed to the Barmer district of southwest Rajasthan state along the Indian-Pakistani border. Furthermore, the state government of Rajasthan has ordered residents of its border villages to be prepared for relocation. The decision reportedly came after a meeting among the state's director-general of police, home secretary and an official from the central government. Stratfor confirmed the report with an Indian army officer.
According to India's ZeeNews, the Pakistani army replaced the Pakistan Rangers that regularly patrol the border with India. The Pakistani troop movements were later confirmed by U.K. Bansal, the additional director-general of India's Border Security Force (BSF) in Barmer, Rajasthan.
As Stratfor reported Dec. 22, there is a high probability of India using military force against Pakistan after Dec. 26, when a deadline expires for Pakistan to deliver on Indian demands to crack down on Islamist militant proxies that threaten India. With low expectations that Pakistan has the will or capability to deliver on these demands, India has spent the past month preparing for military action against Pakistan. Pressure is now ratcheting up on both sides of the border, with Indian Air Marshal P.K. Barbora, air officer commanding-in-chief of the Western Air Command, telling reporters Dec. 24 that as many as 5,000 targets in Pakistan have thus far been identified, while saying that many of the militants hiding out in camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have already fled.
Map: India-Pakistan border, provinces
It should be noted that the area of Rajasthan where Indian troops are deploying and where villagers are preparing to evacuate is a long distance from Kashmir, where conflict between India and Pakistan typically takes place. Barmer district is adjacent to Jaisalmer district, where India's Southwestern Air Command is located. Any attacks based out of the Barmer district would involve mechanized and armored forces that could threaten the core
Karachi-Hyderabad-Islamabad corridor - Pakistan's only transit corridor that links the Pakistani heartland of Punjab with the coast. Given that cash-strapped Pakistan is a net food and energy importer and is already flirting with bankruptcy, India has a military opportunity at hand to cut off Pakistan's economic lifeline. Furthermore, a potential cutoff would likely complicate the flow of fuel and supplies to U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan.
Any ground troop movement in southwestern Rajasthan is likely to be accompanied by air strikes against militant targets outside of Kashmir and possibly against intelligence facilities in Pakistan's urban areas.
The timing of Indian military action is still unclear, as it will take some time for India to mobilize its forces and evacuate locals along the border area. But given these recent troop movements, it could be a matter of days before the world witnesses another Indian-Pakistani war.

Pak in war frenzy; intensifies troop movement
Zeenews Bureau
Lahore, Dec 25: In a move which could heighten tension between New Delhi and Islamabad, Pakistan has purportedly moved its tenth brigade to Lahore and ordered its third Armed Brigade to march towards Jhelum.
Islamabad has also reportedly put its 10th and 11th divisions on high alert. Unconfirmed reports have said militants have also been stationed alongwith the Army at the said locations.
Also Pakistan's Army has reportedly stationed its troops in the Rajouri and Poonch sectors of J&K.
Pakistan’s troop build up along the Indian border has also given credence to the current war hysteria between the two nuclear powered states.
The move comes a day after Pakistan deployed its Army in place of the regular Pak Rangers along its border with India.
Confirming the news, Additional Director general of BSF, Barmer, UK Bansal said, “There is a lot of activity along at the Pakistan side of India-Pakistan border near Barmer in Rajasthan and Pakistan Rangers have been replaced by the Pakistan Army.”
The ADG also added that BSF is on full alert and is capable of handling any eventuality.
The deployment is an indication of the level of apprehension on the Pakistani side on an Indian attack. It should be noted that the last time Pakistan Rangers were replaced by Army during the Kargil war.
The State government of Rajasthan has ordered the residents of border villages to be prepared for relocation. According to sources, the order came after a meeting of state Director General of Police and Home Secretary with official of the Central government.
This move came just a day after Pakistan Army Chief General Asfaq Kiyani warned India of a befitting reply in the wake of an Indo-Pak war.
The troops build up by Pakistan could also be seen as a tactic to send a message to the US administration that any tension along its eastern border could jeopardize Pentagon’s anti-Taliban operations in the western sector of the country.
Also, this is among various steps by Islamabad to tick India of its war preparedness in the wake of a war.
Diplomatic relations have gone into a tailspin between the two countries in the aftermath of a deadly terror attack on India’s financial capital Mumbai, believed to have been perpetrated by Pakistan based terrorists.
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had on Wednesday vowed to defend the country ‘until the last breath’, and said no compromise would be made with the nation’s sovereignty.
Meanwhile, after reports of a possible Indian attack on Pakistan, the Pakistan Air Force continued its state of high alert and started aerial surveillance of the Chashma power plant and other sensitive sites.
There were reports of the fighter jets continuing aerial surveillance over the Chashma nuclear power plant and other sensitive sites.
Pakistan had put its airbases on high alert amidst fears of Indian ‘surgical strikes’ in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks.

The barrage hit communities throughout the South, reaching as far north as Ashkelon and as far south as Kerem Shalom. At least two Grad-model Katyusha rockets were fired into Ashkelon on Wednesday, and a Kassam with extended range hit Netivot.
No one was wounded, even though terrorists hit close to educational facilities and homes; however, nearly 60 people, almost half of them children or teenagers, were treated for emotional trauma and anxiety.
"It was a Hanukka miracle," Magen David Adom spokesman Yerucham Mandola said.
