The much-admired actor has decided to sign a "Do Not Resuscitate" order, will stop all chemotherapy treatments - and is getting his affairs in order as he courageously faces the end, a close family friend told The ENQUIRER.
"What can anyone say? Patrick has fought the good fight," said the insider. "He probably realizes there's nothing else his doctors can do."
As The ENQUIRER revealed last week, the 5-foot-10 actor has dropped to 105 pounds and is suffering severe complications from his disease. But with remarkable grit, he vowed to keep working as long as he possibly could.
"He has always been a realist, and even though he was fighting for his life with everything he had in him, he knows he's lived much longer than expected.
"He said he has to accept the outcome so he can help prepare his family and enjoy quality time with them, and then die peacefully when the time comes."
In his final days, the real-life Hollywood hero has been focusing not on his own comfort, but on minimizing the impact of his struggle on his family.
"Patrick says it is hard to watch someone you love die, so he's trying to do this as peacefully and lovingly as possible," added the friend.
"He said the only thing you can do when you have no control is to accept it, deal with it and help your loved ones. It's his gift to them - to make sure they know he's at peace. After going through the stages of disbelief, self-pity and anger, he is finally at acceptance.
"Patrick will go forward with a 'Do Not Resuscitate' order."
Such an order requires doctors to let him die - not put him on life support - if he should stop breathing or if his heart stops.
"I don't think Patrick wants the people who love him to agonize over that decision. Patrick is an amazing example of grace, dignity and honesty."

Radio talk show icon Michael Savage has teamed up with the Thomas More Law Center of Ann Arbor, Mich., to file a lawsuit against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
"It is a civil rights action brought under the First and Fifth Amendments to the United States Constitution, challenging the policy, practice, and custom of the United States Government that targets for disfavored treatment those individuals and groups that are considered to be 'rightwing extremists,'" the complaint announced today said.
The federal agency recently targeted those individuals in its report called "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."

An estimated 1 million Americans participated in at least 1,000 tea parties, according to reports by organizers tabulating the nationwide numbers, with documented protests held in 50 states.
Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform told WND, "The Obama administration has awakened a sleeping giant."
Tax Day Tea Party national event coordinator Amy Kremer told WND she has confirmed that more than 850 parties took place. She has at least 100 more reports in her e-mail inbox that have not been posted.
Asked how many people attended the events, she responded, "I would estimate it at over 1 million. I'm waiting on more numbers to come in from organizers right now. I can tell you it is absolutely over 750,000 right now."
The largest protests occurred in Atlanta, Ga., with 15,000 participants. As many as 10,000 protesters participating in Sacramento, Calif., and Overland Park, Kan., according to data compiled by Americans for Tax Reform on more than 207 tea parties.
Americans for Tax Reform has established an Internet page on the group's website where organizers of tea parties can submit attendance estimates to be included in the running tally.
Michael DePrimo, special counsel to American Family Aassociation President Tim Wildmon, told WND that AFA's tea party website, Tea Party Day, had 2,031 confirmations that tea parties were to be held in as many cities.
"Since yesterday, we have had 394 cities give us reports, many with photographs, about the tea parties that were held," he said. "We have not been able to get all the information up. We expect more to come in as the days go by."

Islamic militarism is spreading like blood poisoning throughout the entire country of Pakistan. In February, rival Islamic militant groups announced the creation of a new platform for jihad: Shura Ittihad-ul Mujahideen, or Council of United Holy Warriors. The Taliban groups making up this alliance claim it was created at the behest of Taliban leader Mullah Omar.
The expansion of radical Islamic jihad in the Pakistani tribal regions is driving the entire country toward an abyss. An increasing number of Pakistanis are lending either moral or logistical support to the terrorists even as the civil government falls apart. The American-supported ouster of former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf only advanced the goals of the militants by removing one of their chief adversaries.
The entire planet could be plunged into a nightmare if radical Islamists get their hands on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons as the result of a government collapse.
“You just can’t say that you’re not going to worry about al Qaeda taking control of Pakistan and its nukes,” said David Kilcullen, an Australian Army reservist and top adviser to Gen. David Petraeus during the troop surge in Iraq.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Kilcullen went on to describe why the current situation in Pakistan should be considered a global problem using the following terms:
Pakistan is 173 million people, 100 nuclear weapons, an army bigger than the U.S. Army, and al Qaeda headquarters sitting right there in the two thirds of the country that the government doesn’t control. The Pakistani military and police and intelligence service don’t follow the civilian government; they are essentially a rogue state within a state. We’re now reaching the point where within one to six months we could see the collapse of the Pakistani state, also because of the global financial crisis, which just exacerbates all these problems. … The collapse of Pakistan, al Qaeda acquiring nuclear weapons, an extremist takeover—that would dwarf everything we’ve seen in the war on terror today.
In the past, when Islamist forces rose up to try to take control of Pakistan, the Pakistani military put down the uprising and restored stability to the nation. Today, however, the Pakistani military itself, and especially the intelligence service, is significantly sympathetic to the Islamists. Outside the Pakistani Army, no Pakistani force exists strong enough to check them.
An April 8 report on Spiegel Online spoke of the Pakistani Army’s dubious sympathies:
The military prefers to avoid serious confrontation with the extremists. Many officers still do not see the Taliban as their enemy. Pakistan’s true enemy, in their view, is India, the country from which Pakistan once seceded and with which it has since waged three wars. There is a relatively common attitude in the military which holds that the fight against terrorism in the northwestern part of the country is being forced upon them by the Americans and that they are fighting the wrong war.
Islamist sympathies among Pakistan Inter-Service Intelligence Agency (isi) officials are also dangerous. Spiegel notes the following:
In a recent article in the New York Times, Obama administration officials were unusually candid in accusing the isi of supporting the Taliban in its struggle against the Western alliance and the Karzai government in Kabul. That support, they said, includes ammunition and fuel, as well as the recruitment of fighters. The officials claimed that wiretapped telephone conversations prove that members of Pakistani intelligence have even given the Taliban advance warning of planned raids.
There are unconfirmed reports that the isi sent $100,000 to Mohammed Atta just before he led the 9/11 hijackers on their mission.
If segments of Pakistan’s army and intelligence services join forces with the Islamic militants, the country could undergo an Islamic revolution similar to the one that seized Iran in 1979. This would put Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal in the hands of a terrorist-sponsoring state.
Editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote in the January 2008 Trumpet: “Pakistan also has the nuclear bomb and could be taken over by radical Islam, with plenty of help from Iran. That means it could become a proxy of the Iranian mullahs. This would be the worst possible disaster!”

Gates totally opposes Israeli strike on Iran

The US defense secretary Robert Gates again voiced extreme objections to an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear sites. Addressing US marines, Wednesday, April 16, he said Iran's nuclearization can only be stopped by an Iranian decision. "A strike probably would delay Tehran's nuclear program one to three years, it would unify Iranians, cement their determination to have a nuclear program and also build into the whole country an undying hatred of whoever hits them."
DEBKAfile's military sources take issue with Gates' assessment. They note that he avoided spelling out the words "nuclear weapon" - as though to blur the fact that this is Iran's goal. As for his use of "undying hatred," in the future tense, he may not have noticed that the radical Islamic regime bombards its people night and day with their undying hatred for Israel and calls to "wipe the Jewish state off map."
The US defense secretary knows very well that if Israel lets Tehran acquire a nuclear bomb capability, it will be Iran's first target, whether directly or as a shield for its terrorist proxies. Furthermore, no Israeli government can afford to forego three years – and probably more - relieved of the threat of annihilation by a power dedicated to its destruction. Even Gates cannot prophesy the exact consequences of an Israeli strike on Iran, say those sources. The Middle East would certainly be a different place for all its denizens.

Taxpayers descend upon politicians in numbers far beyond expectations

SACRAMENTO – Americans took to the streets to protest wasteful government spending today – with estimated crowd sizes of 5,000 to 10,000 in Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Olympia, Wash., Lansing, Mich., and Sacramento.
At the California Capitol, a sea of red, white and blue U.S. flags waved above a large crowd that surrounded the building and spilled into city streets. Visitors arrived in yellow school buses from surrounding cities.
Sacramento tea party organizer Mark Meckler scanned the scene from behind a platform before the event.
"It's unreal. It's beyond my imagination," Meckler told WND with a dazed look. "I can't imagine anything better than this."
Some protesters shouted at the Capitol building with megaphones: "Hey, tell Gov. Schwarzenegger to come out here!"
"We are leading a revolution, and this is the first day of that revolution," Meckler said. "Politicians will no longer be able to divide our nation. They are taking our money, and we aren't going to stand here and take it anymore."
With booming enthusiasm, the crowd recited the Pledge of Allegiance and began wildly chanting, "USA, USA, USA!"
Their voices could be heard from blocks away as the California legislature remained in session and lawmakers dared not venture outside.
Local businessmen, families with small children, military veterans and elderly men and women carried handmade signs with a variety of creative messages.

This is one thing Ruger Company is doing splendidly, as there are no short cuts. But don't take my word for it, Following is part of a review from the popular Actions-by-T Teddy Jacobson. Naturally he promotes his work, but see what he has to say. With regard to what he has to say, in matters unrelated to what he is doing he is being honest. As to his work, while he is an action-only specialist - and he is World-renowned for what he does.
Ruger SP 101 Revolver
I have been asked to write a commentary on this popular revolver. This is a small 5 shot very well made revolver that was introduced by Sturm Ruger in 1993. Other manufacturers have gone to using MIM (Metal Injection Molded) parts and also some plastic parts but not the Ruger SP 101. It is still the same rock solid revolver that weighs 25.5 ounces unloaded with its 2 1/4 barrel. It is fully stainless steel and a well finished casting. Ruger makes the best castings there are and I have no reservations about using them.I rate this as a first class carry handgun that will handle most any +P cartridge. I previously had owned one chambered in 38 special, but the one I own now is chambered in 357 magnum. Ruger also makes a Double Action Only (DAO) model that has no hammer spur, but the hammer is not concealed like the S&W centennial series. They also make a 3 1/16 inch barrel model that weighs 27 ounces unloaded.
I work on a lot of these revolvers and can get the Double Action down to 9 lbs and I set the Single Action to 3 lbs. I do not recommend a beginner or wannabbee SMITH trying to learn to work on revolvers, trying to learn on this model because there is NO side plate and you must evaluate a problem by having the experience of knowing how to correct a specific symptom.
A revolver of this design having no side plate to remove, there is no way to observe and study the action work, you can get your self into a lot of trouble trying to correct these revolver actions. It can become your worst nightmare.
It has a patented transfer bar safety system and the cylinder rotates counter clockwise looking from the rear. They do make a model that is chambered in 22 Long Rifle. You can not just install reduced power springs in these SP 101 revolvers because you will create ignition problems. When I refine one of these revolvers I do install Wolff springs but I am able to get away with this BECAUSE I know how to remove the friction out of the action. It helps when you physically reshape the trigger so it is easier on your index finger.
Downside: critical parts from Storm Ruger Manufacturer for factory installation only:
The down side to owning a Ruger SP 101 is that if you need a specific part that Ruger says is critical in nature, these parts are not for sale to you or me, and you must return the revolver to the Ruger factory for them to install the critical part.
To be able to shoot this revolver rapidly in the double action mode you must let the trigger return fully forward or you will not be able to pull the trigger for the second shot. The SP 101 comes with cushioned rubber grips with wood inlays and there is no reason to change them. The front sight is too small to install a fluorescent insert so I just paint it using fluorescent orange and that works fine. Installing a front night sight in my opinion would be a waste of money because the tritium vial would be too small in diameter and would not be easy to see, especially some one my age.
Sherman Tank:
If you want a small powerful revolver that is built like a Sherman tank, this is it. It does have a frame mounted firing pin that has never caused me any problems. Ruger has not cut any corners like the other manufacturers have done. My personal SP 101 is a keeper.
